I'm about to turn 29 and one of my coworkers, for no apparent reason, tells me that 29 was one of the worst years of her life . . .

At the time, housing prices in Calgary were soaring and as a singleton, my chances of moving from my parents home into a home of my own were slim to none, unless I wanted to take up residence in the burbs . . . . not a chance. I'm done school, I'm working, what's next?

*flick* lightbulb in head goes on. Travel + Nursing = Travel Nursing. I apply for random jobs online and receive a job offer in Australia within a few weeks of talking with a recruiter. The perks: it's in Australia! It's not extra money, there's no signing bonus and I'll have to live in a dorm. But hey, I'm minutes from the beach at ALL times.

So, here we are, two months til go time. My twenties (drinking, school, working, boyfriends that I thought would amount to something but never did and yes, more drinking) are coming to a close and my thirties (working, traveling, suntanned beach boys and of course, drinking) are approaching. I head to sunny Sydney, Australia for 6 months to work, to grow, to travel, to meet new people and to conquer my completely irrational fear of sharks (those who know me well will know what I'm talking about) . Most of all, I plan to make the rest of my 29th year and the beginning of my 30th, the best I've ever had.

Follow me as I work in Sydney and travel to New Zealand and Southeast Asia. Should be fun! Don't forget to check out my links! I'll do my best to update them as I travel.
